David Di Michele struck at the death as hosts Lecce came from two goals down to claim a deserved point against Chievo this afternoon. Alberto Paloschi put Chievo ahead early on before extending his team's lead after 24 minutes.
Andrea Esposito reduced the deficit for the home side on the half-hour mark before Di Michele fired home seconds from time.

Chievo, seeking only a second away win of the season, made a dream start after Lecce failed to clear the ball inside the area. That left an unmarked Paloschi free to hit the ball past goalkeeper Massimiliano Benassi.
Chievo then doubled their advantage. Esposito lost the ball under pressure from Sergio Pellissier and Paloschi past Benassi and into the top left corner of goal.
Lecce pulled a goal back soon after when Chievo goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino failed to clear a corner kick, allowing Esposito to score and atone for his earlier error.
Paloschi should have killed the game off with five minutes remaining but his left-footed strike towards the bottom right corner was saved by Benassi.
And Serse Cosmi's men were rewarded for their efforts deep into stoppage time when Di Michele got on the end of Cristian Pasquato's cross at the far post and blasted past Sorrentino.
Despite this last-second loss of two points, Chievo remains tucked in a large group of clubs ranging from 8th to 13th place, 9 points above the relegation battles. Chievo has had a somewhat better-than-expected year and have played solid football all season.  There have just been several of those nearly great performances where the opposition has grabbed points in the last 5 minutes or so, as this match today typifies.
Chievo's next match is on Sunday when Lazio comes to Verona.
    Forza Chievo!!
